Job Description

:

• Responsible for data mining (processing, cleansing and verifying the integrity of data), scripting, data modelling, problem solving and visual analytics to various types of Next Generation Sequencing projects data.
• Develop new software applications or customize existing applications to meet specific scientific project needs.
• Consult with researchers/customers to analyze problems, recommend technology-based solutions, or determine computational strategies to meet researchers\xe2\x80\x99 needs.
• Analyze molecular datasets such as raw microarray data, genomic sequence data, and proteomics data for clinical or basic research purposes.
• Design and apply bioinformatics algorithms including unsupervised and supervised machine learning, dynamic programming, or graphic algorithms.
• Build and maintain database that contain information, applying machine learning and statistical models on genomics datasets
• Prepare report and statistics of information and analysis
• Provide bioinformatics workshop and training
• Driving improvement in research methodology, systems and processes from data science perspective with customers

Requirements:

• A degree or related to bioinformatics/biotechnology/biomedical sciences/genetics/genomics
• Research experience relevant to Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics, including but not limited to genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, and metagenomics, is an added advantage.
• Experience in developing mobile apps is an added advantage.
• Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Strong team player with good interpersonal, initiative, independent and problem-solving skills.
