Job Description

Ensures that the boiler is operated under safe condition and adequate steam supply for the milling operation. Carries out routine boiler cleaning and maintenance. Monitor and controls black smoke emission in accordance with Ringelmann Chart No. 2. Control the boiler operation to improve the efficiency and to prevent the excess usage of solid fuels. Checks and controls boiler TDS and softener hardness. Records the performance of boiler station. Ensure the proper functioning of smoke density meter. Upkeep the station well. Reports any off-norm situations to Production Supervisor. Proper handling of boiler chemical at the station i.e. proper storage & label. To ensure no spillage of chemical onto the floor. Practice emergency respond plan in the event of fire. Ensure MSDS is available at the work site.

Requirements:

Lower/Upper secondary education. Minimum 3-4 years working experience in the boiler station as boiler attendant. Possess

1st grade boilerman certificate.

Able to operate the boiler safely and carry out boiler overhaul annually. Possess basic troubleshooting skills for any non-conforming issues. Knowledge in the compliance of black smoke emission as stipulated in Environmental Quality Act 1974. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Willingness to work in a shift environment.
