About the role

The Boilerman will support the goals and programs established by the management team to continually improve the plant maintenance as well as plant improvement. Included in the roles and responsibilities of the Boilerman are:

Key responsibilities

• Overall in charge of the boilers\' safety and operation.
• To carry out periodic checks on process water level at the storage tank to ensure that the tank is full, the pumps and tank equipment are functioning properly.
• To ensure that the D.I. plant is functioning properly and producing the required water specifications.
• To ensure that the deaerator is functioning properly.
• To carry out periodic checks on the air compressor system, ensuring the system is functioning properly.
• Immediately \xe2\x80\x9cSTART\xe2\x80\x9d the Boiler and DI system after of every POWER FAILURE.
• To inform Management of any failures or malfunctioning of the plant equipments or machineries without delay.
• To carry out instructions from the Chemist pertaining the amount of dosages that are required for the boiler water treatment and to prepare the solution required.
• To carry out boiler cleaning and repair by internally or externally as required by the Management.
• To ensure the boiler station and air compressor area are kept clean, tidy and establish a safe and good working environment within the working place.
• To ensure that the cooling tower system is functioning properly.
• To ensure that the fuel oil tanks are maintained full and pumps operating properly.
• Act as a safety co-coordinator and responsible for safety and GMP matters.
• To wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) according to site safety guideline, including safety shoes, safety goggle, helmet, long sleeve jacket and ear plug.\xe2\x80\x9d
• Responsible in practicing 5S culture in the work place
• Participate in plant safety and food safety activity.
• Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the management systems of safety, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, HACCP & GMP.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested from time to time.

• Education - Min Grade One Steam Certificate Of Competency
• Computer Skills - Basic Microsoft Office
• Experience in maintaining boiler.
• Work experience in process industry and working on shift.
• Strong technical, troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Independent, resourceful and able to take pressure under fast pace work environment
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
