Job Description

A membership consultant in the fitness industry plays a key role in attracting and retaining gym members. Their primary responsibility is to sell memberships, which involves explaining different membership options and pricing plans to potential clients. They also provide tours of the fitness facility, showcasing the equipment, classes, and amenities available.

Membership consultants handle initial inquiries from prospective members, either in person, over the phone, or through emails. They need to follow up with leads to nurture potential memberships. Another important responsibility is maintaining accurate records of memberships, including contracts, payment plans, and renewal dates. This helps the fitness centre track member activity and manage its budget effectively.
