Business Analyst cum QA

As a Business Analyst, you will act as a professional who evaluates business systems, procedures, and operations to improve efficiency and add value through technology or alternative solutions. You will analyze business structures, processes, and requirements while working closely with system analysts, developers, and QA teams to ensure the successful delivery of software projects.

In addition, you will take ownership of certain Quality Assurance (QA) responsibilities to ensure requirements are accurately translated into working solutions through rigorous testing, validation, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Analysis & Elicitation Identify, gather, and define detailed functional specifications based on business requirements. Analyze and document "to-be" business and operational processes. Perform impact assessments, estimations, and risk management related to requirements and scope changes. Transition requirements to designers/developers with clarity and completeness. Translate business requirements into test scenarios and acceptance criteria. Facilitate and deliver "Train-the-Trainer" sessions on application enhancements. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base related to application features, processes, and business rules.

Testing & Quality Assurance

Collaborate with QA/Test Managers to define testing strategies aligned with requirements. Prepare test cases, test scripts, and acceptance criteria based on functional specifications. Participate in system integration testing (SIT) and support user acceptance testing (UAT). Review, validate, and clarify test findings - classify them as defects or change requests. Perform impact assessment and estimation for project-related change requests. Support regression testing and ensure critical functionalities remain intact after changes. Ensure traceability from requirements ? test scenarios ? execution results. Maintain a continuous feedback loop with stakeholders to enhance product quality.

Collaboration & Delivery

Work with product owners, developers, and testers in an Agile delivery environment. Act as a bridge between business teams, development teams, and QA teams. Proactively identify gaps, dependencies, and risks, and recommend alternate solutions. Support automation testing initiatives by providing clear requirements for automated test coverage. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products in fast-paced projects.

Requirements

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MCA, or related field. Proven experience in Business Analysis and Quality Assurance (QA) in software development projects. Experience in Digital Channels and Transaction Banking preferred. Understanding of software testing methodologies (manual and automation exposure). Knowledge of Agile product development and tools like JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr. Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and QA lifecycle. Exposure to iOS/Android development lifecycle is an added advantage. Excellent skills in requirements elicitation, documentation, and test scenario writing. Ability to push back on complex build needs and propose alternative solutions. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Highly resourceful, proactive, and self-motivated in a fast-paced environment. Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across BA and QA functions.
