The Business Development Executive is responsible for securing new business opportunities, managing franchise enquiries, sourcing potential retail locations, and building strong relationships with mall leasing teams, landlords, and partners. This role requires someone confident, outgoing, and experienced in dealing with malls--especially in the F&B sector.
Actively engage with leasing managers from malls, hypermarkets, and retail groups.
Build strong PR relationships with key mall stakeholders.
Secure kiosk/lot opportunities suitable for Happy Potato's concept.
Attend meetings, presentations, and site visits with mall leasing teams.
Prepare and submit required documents (brand profile, proposal, layout).
2. Franchise & Partnership Development
Handle franchise enquiries, qualify leads, and present suitable investment packages.
Maintain follow-up communication with potential franchisees.
Prepare franchise proposals, basic business cases, and pitch decks.
Ensure professional and consistent communication representing Happy Potato.
3. Site Feasibility & Location Assessment
Conduct on-ground and online site research.
Evaluate rental rate, footfall, competitor presence, and location potential.
Prepare simple ROI analysis to support decision-making (without disclosing strategy).
Coordinate with internal departments for assessment and approval.
4. Project Coordination
Liaise with supply chain, operations, marketing, and contractors for new site setups.
Track progress from site confirmation until store readiness.
Ensure smooth onboarding of new franchise partners.
5. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare weekly BD updates:
Lead status
Meetings attended
Locations visited
Leasing negotiations progress
Maintain organised records of documents, proposals, and correspondences.
Requirements
Minimum 1-3 years' experience in Business Development within F&B or retail.
Strong experience dealing with mall leasing teams and retail property groups.
Excellent communication skills in English, Malay (Mandarin is a plus).
Outgoing personality with strong PR and negotiation confidence.
Able to present professionally in meetings.
Good understanding of basic ROI, rental benchmarking, and F&B operational flow.
Able to travel for meetings and site visits.

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
