• Whether in a management position, a sales role, or a related role, experience in business development is essential.
• A track record of proven sales.
• An understanding of customer support is an asset.
• Microsoft Office and CRM software skills (e.g. Salesforce) are a plus.
• Negotiation skills and communication skills.
• Being able to build rapport.
• The ability to manage time and plan.

Responsibilities

• Find and explore new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services - or find new ways to reach existing markets.
• Generate leads and make cold calls to potential customers.
• Face-to-face meetings or phone calls with customers/clients.
• Maintain and develop customer/client relationships.
• Have a good understanding of your customers' needs and be able to respond accordingly.
• To refine and improve a business, you must think strategically - see the big picture and set aims and objectives.
