Identify opportunities to exploit the University's academic endeavors to create new income streams
Engage with sectors at a strategic level, i.e. associations and professional bodies, to influence and develop the College responses to the market demand
Actively engage with academics from the college to fully understand the capabilities and knowledge capital
Engage externally with relevant sectors, industries and businesses with a view to exploit the capabilities college
Generate new income streams through commercialization of knowledge capital, facilities and/or research and development projects
Engage with business development managers, or equivalents, in other Colleges and work collegiately to assure the college achieves its targets and realizes identified opportunities
Represent the college externally at key events nationally or internationally
To lead with a creative input in the development of course material
Prepare content and produce marketing literature for marketing materials and website and liaise with the Marketing Manager regarding the design and printing of marketing materials and corporate gift
Undertake any other duties that fall within the scope of the post as allocated by the management
People Management
1.1 Ensure that college HR policies and procedures are implemented
1.2 Ensure the staff performance is managed appropriately and in a way that is consistent with the expectations of the ALFA College Academic, and that fair workload allocation processes are in place
1.3 Ensure all staff have access to the necessary support to enable them to contribute fully and develop their skills and experience
1.4 Engender a culture of excellence, co-operation and respect both within and beyond the school
1.5 Make effective use of all staffing resources and seek opportunities for collaboration and joint working with others beyond the school and beyond the college
1.6 Ensure students are included as appropriate in the various decision making forum within the school
1.7 Ensure a safe and healthy environment for both staff and students, and full compliance with health and safety requirements
Financial Management
2.1 Take responsibility for devolved budgets and comply with college financial regulations
2.2 Manage income and expenditure in order to promote financial sustainability
2.3 Ensure adherence by all school members, with college Financial Regulations and other financial operating procedures and regulations
2.4 Ensure that college equipment/facilities under the department's control are properly maintained and serviced as required
Quality Assurance
3.1 Ensure all activities are carried out to the highest possible standards and put in place the necessary evaluation and monitoring procedures to ensure both compliance and improvement: such procedures will include teaching and management of all resources
3.2 Comply with auditing, quality assurance and risk management procedures both internal and external
