Job Description


Jadestone Energy is an independent oil and gas production company focused on the Asia Pacific region. In 2021, Jadestone acquired SapuraOMV\'s assets in Peninsular Malaysia. These assets include interests in four licenses, two of which Jadestone has operated since the 2021 acquisition. These include a 70% operated interest in the PM329 PSC, containing the East Piatu field, and a 60% operated interest in the PM323 PSC, which contains the East Belumut, West Belumut and Chermingat fields. In addition, Jadestone acquired a 50% non-operated working interest in the PM318 and AAKBNLP PSCs, which were operated by PETRONAS Carigali. Jadestone assumed operatorship and full interest of those two PSCs earlier this year and is now engaged with PETRONAS on a path to unlocking additional value through these assets. Outside of Malaysia, the Company has a 100% operated working interest in the Stag oilfield and in the Montara project, both offshore Australia. Both the Stag and Montara assets include oil producing fields, with further development and exploration potential. The Company also has a 16.67% non-operated interest in the North West Shelf Oil Project offshore Western Australia, comprising four oil fields containing significant upside potential through potential infill drilling and life extension activities. Further, the Company has a 100% operated working interest in two gas development blocks in Southwest Vietnam, and an operated 100% interest in the Lemang PSC, onshore Sumatra, Indonesia, which includes the Akatara gas field development, where first production is expected in the first half of 2024. Most recently, the Company acquired a non-operated 9.52% interest in the Sinphuhorm producing gas field onshore Thailand. Led by an experienced management team with a track record of delivery, who were core to the successful growth of Talisman\'s business in Asia, the Company is pursuing an acquisition strategy focused on growth and creating value through identifying, acquiring, developing and operating assets in the Asia Pacific region. This role entails the formulation and implementation of strategic plans for field developments, work programs and budgets, and growth opportunities within the Malaysia business unit. The aim is to strategically optimize overall value and elevate efficiency across the entire portfolio. As a Business Planning Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in connecting diverse teams to create and execute strategic integrated plans. The overarching goal is to sustain continuous business growth and uphold the position of being the preferred operator, aligning with PETRONAS\' framework. A key aspect of this position involves the continual enhancement and management of economic models for various fiscal regimes in Malaysia, strategically leveraging fiscal terms to maximize asset value. Principle Accountabilities: Lead the coordination of all budget and business planning requirements for the assigned assets, collaborating closely with key personnel from various functional groups. This involves the meticulous construction and timely delivery of all components of the Work Program and Budget (WP&B) and corporate budgets, including any necessary budget revisions. Conduct a comprehensive analysis of operational data across all business parameters to identify opportunities for improvement. Focus on maximizing revenue entitlement and facilitating value-driven decision-making. Coordinate the development and monitoring of key performance indicators for the Malaysia business unit to measure and evaluate performance against strategic goals. Lead the preparation of management summaries, reports, and presentations for various stakeholders, including local management teams, the board of directors, joint venture partners, and regulators. Foster open communication among all functional groups to ensure consistent representation of data and reports, reinforcing the company\'s strong presence in the industry. Develop and maintain economic models, ensuring the integrity of the results. Evaluate commercial and economic implications of various business decisions, providing insights to support strategic planning and decision-making. Assist in the strategic framing of field development plans and identifying future growth opportunities. Ensure that all business planning activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies. Identify opportunities for process improvements in budgeting, planning, and analysis to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness. Experience, Skills and Knowledge Possess an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a field such as Engineering, Business, Finance, or a closely related technical discipline. Possess a minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience, showcasing a proven capability and a track record in strategic planning and economic evaluations within the context of the oil and gas industry. Demonstrates an understanding of the value chain in the upstream oil & gas industry. Showcase an ability to seamlessly integrate technical and commercial awareness, coupled with a keen understanding of how various factors impact business outcomes. Display proficiency in essential tools for analysis and presentation, such as PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) would be considered a valuable asset, contributing to enhanced efficiency in data analysis and economic modeling.
