Summary of the role
\xe2\x80\x8bThe Buyer provides raw material and semi-finished inventory by placing purchase orders and monitoring supplier performance, verifying receipt of items, authorizing payment, and managing and controlling inventory. Executes activities per the constrained master schedule to meet production dates according to forecast.

This role reports to the Site Planning Manager and interacts with Production Planners, Warehousing, Engineering, Suppliers, and others to maximize labor & material utilization. Also coordinates inventory management activities. Good written and oral communication skills are a must. Must demonstrate good collaboration and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Establishes and maintains production material inventory and purchase plan to support master production schedule to achieve optimum delivery of materials in economic lots.

\xc2\xb7 Ensures accuracy of net requirement signals for the timely ordering and delivery of components to support manufacturing activities.

\xc2\xb7 Assist in development of annual material orders and contracts.

\xc2\xb7 Handle correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices and report such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner as required.

\xc2\xb7 Process non-conforming material requests and RMA requests with supply chain partners timely.

\xc2\xb7 Authorize payment for purchases by reviewing invoices and related documentation.

\xc2\xb7 Monitor supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specifications; maintaining appropriate files and records of meetings with suppliers to ensure company requirements are met and that supplier is aware of their performance.

\xc2\xb7 Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement related problems.

\xc2\xb7 Assist internal and external customers by interpreting laws, policy, codes, and regulations pertaining to purchasing; answer inquiries both orally and in writing concerning purchasing operations.

\xc2\xb7 Participates in new product launch meetings and assist in developing new product forecasts and supplier delivery schedules. Executes planning/purchasing activities during phase-in phase-out programs.

\xc2\xb7 Supports plant or manufacturing unit supply S&OPs as required.

\xc2\xb7 Performs Rough Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) for supplier capacity load and identifies possible manufacturing constraints.

\xc2\xb7 Analyze month end activity to determine the need for recommended forecast modification.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain appropriate inventory levels and identify opportunities to improve inventory investment through inventory entitlement model for applicable production line.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain accuracy of stock code information within SAP, including leadtime, pricing, current supplier information, current purchase order data, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure SAP parameters are maintained by monitoring minimum, maximum, safety, and current inventory levels, making recommendations to management for adjustments to levels.

\xc2\xb7 Leads and executes projects to improve purchasing and planning functionality, both within SAP system and through external controls to help achieve world class performance.

\xc2\xb7 Stay current with software development, provide on-site technical expertise for the ERP system and develop ad-hoc reports as required.

\xc2\xb7 Identify software procedural improvements to the Operations process to eliminate waste.

\xc2\xb7 Complete special projects and assignments as requested.

Location:

Education:

4-year university bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Business, or related field

Licenses/ Certifications:

\xc2\xb7 Supply chain certification (APICS/ CSCP/IBF) desirable

\xc2\xb7 Process Excellence certification desirable

Experience:

\xc2\xb7 5 years of experience in manufacturing, inventory planning, or purchasing preferably in a medical, pharmaceutical or consumer industry is preferred.

\xc2\xb7 5 years related experience with and a demonstrable knowledge of ERP & advanced planning systems, preferably SAP is preferred.

\xc2\xb7 Implementation experience with an ERP or Advanced Planning system, desirable

\xc2\xb7 Expert knowledge using MS Office tools (particularly Excel, Word, Access)

\xc2\xb7 Familiarity with relevant legislation (e.g. GMP, FDA, ISO, UDI, MDR requirements) is desirable.

\xc2\xb7 Previous medical device experience a plus.
