Job Description

The Caregiver will provide day-to-day care and support to elderly residents, focusing on enhancing their quality of life. This role involves assisting with daily activities, providing companionship, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Daily Living Assistance:

Help residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Assist with mobility and transfers, including the use of assistive devices. Ensure residents' comfort and well-being by addressing their personal needs.

2. Emotional and Social Support:

Provide companionship and engage residents in conversations and social activities. Encourage participation in recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Offer emotional support and reassurance to residents and their families.

3. Household Tasks:

Assist with housekeeping duties, including tidying up residents' rooms and common areas. Help with meal preparation and ensure residents receive proper nutrition. Assist with laundry and other household chores as needed.

4. Health and Safety:

Monitor residents for any changes in physical or emotional condition and report concerns to the nursing staff. Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Assist in the implementation of emergency procedures as needed.

5. Hygiene and Infection Control:

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in residents' living spaces. Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of illnesses. Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste materials.

6. Documentation and Communication:

Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents' conditions. Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the healthcare team. Participate in team meetings and handovers to ensure continuity of care.

7. Training and Development:

Attend training sessions to enhance caregiving skills and stay updated with best practices. Participate in continuing education opportunities to improve knowledge and performance.

8. Other Duties:

Perform other related duties as assigned by the superior.

Qualifications:

Experience

:

Previous experience in caregiving, elder care, or a similar role is highly desirable. Familiarity with activities of daily living and working with elderly or disabled individuals.

Skills and Competencies

:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to provide compassionate and patient care. Basic knowledge of health and safety practices, including infection control and emergency procedures. Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Physical Requirements

:

Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents with mobility as needed. Physical stamina to perform caregiving duties, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

Certifications

:

First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain). Certification in medication administration may be an asset.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
