We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our payments team in the role of Cash Balance of Payment Officer (BOP). Principle Responsibilities To plan, supervise control and be responsible for the timely and accurate e-submission of BOP forms to BNM and to ensure the compliance of BNM regulations requirements are met. DAILY

  • Complete Forms P, R, BP, BR, OP, OR by way of reviewing items under Staging Error Queue / Data Enrichment queue/ backend patching for HBMB and HBMS within SLAs under the CASH BOP remit. This includes partial forms.
  • Check that all transactions are completed for upload to Starworks and ESSDSS \xe2\x80\x93 HBMB & HBMS and provide end of day confirmation to ensure all submissions are completed.
  • Complete the outstanding forms to meet compliance/SLA. Formulate and send daily MI to management.
  • Review and release the data enrichment. Identify causes of data enrichment errors for collation.
  • Trigger and follow up on chasers for outstanding forms. Escalate to business line managers and other banks where necessary.
  • Assist in monitoring and handling of Quality Assurance, BNM queries and CIS Validation queries to ensure accuracy and submission SLA.
  • Management Information, other required data and communication are completed accurately and supporting statistics/reports/returns are presented within agreed timescales.
  • Handle telephone/Zoom calls \xe2\x80\x93 from IT, Vendor, internal HSBC departments, branches, BNM, and other banks.
  • Participate in Change Management UATs where there are changes to regulations and system.
  • Actively participate and suggest improvements which can improve the process mechanics.
  • Liaise and escalate with IT and Vendor to resolve any system and operational issues from the BAU Processing.
MONTHLY
  • Handle, check and ensure full and complete submission of all form types (e.g. Daily and Monthly reconciliation, JFA, MYR Settlement, IA Reporting, FC, NRNR, Statement E/F, Redesignation, etc).
  • E-survey on Justifications for amendments to data.
  • Monthly MI, Steerco, Stakeholder Engagement, etc.
  • Reviewer for Assurenet for Payment Processing (where assigned).
  • UAT/Project/Migration/Automation/AI testing (where assigned).
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring.
  • Maintain and ensure due observance of HSBC Internal Control Standards, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.
  • Ensure Awareness of compliance requirements and implementation of Group Compliance Policy.
  • Maintain Awareness of operational risk Including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with Section B.1.2 of the Group Operations FIM.





Requirements
  • Payment and Reporting Knowledge from all related section (e.g. PSV, IFAI, GTRF, HSS, TRY and Branches).
  • Requires strong numeric and analytical skills (e.g. MS Excel - Pivot, Formularise, Macro, MI, vlookup, etc) would be a plus.
  • Literate in UAT applications (e.g. HUB, JIRA, Confluence, Regulatory system - Starworks/ESSDSS, etc) would be an advantage.
  • Must be able to communicate with various stakeholders (e.g. IT, Vendor, Bank Negara, Internal HSBC departments, Business Partners etc).
  • Ability to learn quickly, transfers knowledge appropriately, understand and interpret numeric data. Evidence of good analytical, statistical and data mining skills to study trends and make projections. Production management skills and ability to initiate process improvements.
