Job Description

Our client is a well-established manufacturing company with huge footprint across the region, with their products well embedded into our daily life.

With the recent increase in demand locally/overseas, they are currently looking for a Category Buyer to join in their team.

As the Category Buyer, you will be expected to have strong category management experience. Among the many responsibilities some are listed below:

• Collaborates with the Global and Regional procurement team to set appropriate risk management and coverage strategies.
• Procurement of materials required in a timely, cost-effective manner to meet both internal and external customer requirements.
• Responsible for the Quality of Raw Materials delivered to factories and the effective and prompt resolution of any raw materials non-conformance and any Supplier Audit non-conformance.
• Develops and maintains supplier relationships with key suppliers.
• Drives costs reduction and Profit improvement programmes on Raw Materials by working closely with internal stakeholders.

• Established and successful track record within the Food/Non Food Manufacturing Industry in Procurement.
• A minimum of 5-7 years Procurement / Purchasing experience with an impressive track record of accomplishments and continuous improvements.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, relationship management and good influencing and stakeholder management skills to be able work across all levels within an organisation.
• Results focused, service delivery mind-set and pragmatic approach.
• Strong communicator, who can operate, influence, and achieve results.
