Job Description


  • Have at least minimum of 1 year experiences in purchasing or category in retail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
  • Excellent skill in Microsoft Office and Computing.
  • A fast learner, can work under pressure, positive attitude and able to work in a team.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for the assigned category, including goals, objectives, and key performance indicators.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities within the category. Performing site and competitor visits to determine buying patterns for new outlets.
  • Performing visits to existing stores and nearby competitor stores to see how we can improve our procurement habits.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of products or services within the category, from conception to development, pricing, and discontinuation.
  • Assist the category buyer in building relationship and communicating with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and quality for products or services within the category.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop strategies, promotions, and campaigns that drive category growth.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs. Performing ordering of stocks as necessary and ensuring that ordering is done on time, accurately and in the right manner.
  • Establish and track key performance metrics for the category, such as sales revenue, and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate feedback and observations about the store setup process to management, including suggestions for improvements. Extract and generate procurement buying reports on a timely and consistent basis.
  • Identify opportunities for new product, bundles, promos or service offerings within the category and collaborate with product development teams to bring them to market.
  • Assist the Category Buyer Manager in collecting, tabulating and generating data for reports.
  • Any ad hoc tasks that may arise
