CATERING & EVENT SALES MANAGER -

Summary

The Catering & Event Sales Manage Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Catering & Event Services and within the limits of hotel policies and procedures, effectively execute catering and events activities and working closely with banquet operations colleague to ensure confirmed events are coordinated accordingly and have the events run smoothly.

The Role of the Catering & Event Sales Manager

Sales Activities

  • To constantly monitor the progress of assigned Catering and Event Services Coordinator/Executive and to discuss with the person concerned and the Director of Catering and Event Services action plans for improvement
  • Obtain competitors market information
  • Responsible to ensure MO Pillars and departmental LQE are in use at all time
  • To organize and coordinate inspections, when required, to ensure that all programmes are handled professionally
Meetings
  • To chair daily Banquet Event Order Reading when required
  • To attend pre and post event meetings chaired by Event Services Manager with supporting departments and clients when required
Entertainment
  • To arrange entertainment as and when required
To actively participate in entertainment with clients arranged by CMBD colleagues.

Administration
  • To liaise with clients on their requirements when a confirmed lead has been handed over
  • To respond to all last-minute enquiries that is directed to CESD
  • To effectively utilize the standard forms and letters and ensures that such forms and letters are presented in a most professional manner
  • To maintain an effective account and booking management system through Delphi and be fully competent with operating Delphi System
  • To ensure that all data input into the Delphi system is accurate
  • Traces on accounts and books are logged in to Delphi daily and ensures that traces are acted upon timely and thoroughly
  • To ensure that event orders and other important documentation are prepared in a meticulous detail and presented in the most professional manner
  • To ensure that event orders and other important information are distributed to support departments timely
Coordination
  • Meets with Catering and Event Services Executive/ Coordinator daily to review assignments relating to follow ups and administration
  • Maintains all client and event files according to the standards required
  • Keeps a good communication with department head on any development of the confirmed events
  • Meets with event organizer in-house to maintain a good client relationship and high customer satisfaction
  • To assist with incoming telephone calls within the department
  • Fully competent with providing clients with hassle-free experience
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 2 years working experience, preferably in Administration or Sales in the hospitality industry or related field.
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal, fluency in other languages is an added advantage.
  • Excellent selling skills.
  • Strong communication skills and meticulous.
  • Presentable, outgoing and mature personality.
  • Must have working rights in Malaysia.
