Join our Core Business Services (CBS) team and you will help support the important business enablement functions that keep our organization running strong. As a CBS professional, you will work across teams to provide the knowledge, resources and tools that help EY deliver exceptional quality service to our clients, win in the marketplace and support EY\'s growth and profitability. Major teams within CBS include Finance, Technology, Talent Team, Brand Marketing and Communications, Business Development and Risk Management.

The opportunity

The Finance Manager is a key finance role focusing in providing finance support across EY internal client account team and management. The Finance Manager will need to ensure smooth and efficient running of financial-related matters for the Penang and Ipoh offices. You\'ll help to improve engagement profitability, manage enterprise-wide risk and support market development activities. You\'ll support EY planning, reporting and forecasting and analysis, or help EY people manage day-to-day activities, such as managing engagements, process and auditing time and expense or invoice processing. You\'ll also work with other parts of our organization, sharing your financial experience and insights to achieve specific goals. You\'ll get all the support you need to stay on top of regulations and to meet your own professional goals.

Your key responsibilities

  • Oversee day to day Finance functions that include accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, monitoring of funds, month end process and budget planning.
  • Support the firm financial planning cycle (Financial Plan, Forecast) processes, including reinforcing key operating assumptions, challenging plan integrity and alignment with agreed targets, and providing reporting & analysis for leaders review and approval.
  • Provide regular support and insightful performance analysis to facilitate better understanding of business performance of respective functions.
  • Collaborate with the functions as well as other global and regional finance teams to ensure a timely month-end close as well as accrual of expenses.
  • Support and execute global and local finance policies, assist in formulating and implementation of accounting and internal control guidance and processes.
  • Lead and undertake ad-hoc financial reports and projects as assigned.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are processed accurately, in a timely manner, and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Build relationships and stay connected with the business and functional experts to improve the process and quality of deliverables.
  • Manage and supervise Finance team to deliver value to the business contribute to growth. Foster staff performance management, coaching/development and teamwork.

To qualify for the role you must have
  • A bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years of experiences, preferably in functional Finance operations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders at all levels
  • A strong client focus and the ability to build good relationships and engage with business leaders
  • Experience working in a matrix environment, with the agility to attend to multiple demands and shifting priorities, and deal with ambiguity and rapid change
