Provide technical support for all products. Key Responsibilities Discusses project objectives with supervisor to gain an understanding of the scope and definition of the problem to be solved or product to be delivered. Plans experiments/experimental arrays & utilizes results to prove hypothesis or predict next steps. Routinely makes suggestions for changes in project direction based on analysis of data and results of the experiment and competitive information relevant to projects. Writes reports and makes presentations on a significant portion of a project or the complete project with a defined scope. Have good knowledge of current formulating practice and product portfolio. Can handle up to 3 project tasks simultaneously. Provide support to other internal functions, especially production, marketing and sales with direction from supervisor. Have some interaction with customers and suppliers on a needs basis to support business. Demonstrate good understanding of EHS practices and Product Stewardship. Plan and perform a programme of laboratory work for self and assistant (where applicable) covering a range a technical projects in full compliance with all safety and work procedures. In consultation with supervisor, identify technologies and formulating methods to develop products with the most appropriate and efficient formulations. Interpret results of laboratory work, initiate additional work, present conclusions and suggestions for implementation that meet agreed project deadlines. Provide technical support to other internal functions, such as marketing & sales, production and procurement. Contribution of ideas for the laboratory work involving new product development, existing product improvement, formula cost reduction, processes & procedural improvement and support to Sales. Graduate with Honors Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline. 5-10 years\' work experience in a technical role at a relevant company within the chemical or coatings industry. Good knowledge of paint making, testing techniques & color theory. Experience in paint manufacturing and production processes. Good knowledge of formulating rules and principles. Broad appreciation of raw material suppliers and their technologies. Have good understanding of end-user customs and practices.
