Job Overview

Unipac Group is seeking a qualified and certified

Chargeman (AO / BO)

to join our team. The successful candidate will supervise and maintain the safe and efficient operation of electrical installations carried out by our team. You will also be authorized to sign off statutory reports and ensure compliance with

all Malaysian regulatory requirements

, including Suruhanjaya Tenaga standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operation & Maintenance

Operate, inspect, and maintain electrical systems (switchboards, transformers, motors, generators, etc.) Perform preventive and corrective maintenance Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults to minimize downtime

2. Safety & Compliance

Ensure all electrical systems comply with

Suruhanjaya Tenaga

and

Electricity Supply Act

standards Enforce safety procedures, including

LOTO (Lock-Out/Tag-Out)

Respond promptly to electrical emergencies or failures

3. Monitoring & Supervision

Supervise electrical works by contractors or junior team members Oversee on-site electrical installations for quality and safety Verify and inspect systems prior to commissioning

4. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare and sign off maintenance records, inspection checklists, and compliance reports Maintain up-to-date documentation ready for audits

5. Testing & Commissioning

Conduct electrical tests (e.g., insulation resistance, earth continuity) Participate in commissioning of new systems and equipment

6. Permit & Licensing

Hold a valid

Chargeman licence (AO / BO)

issued by

Suruhanjaya Tenaga

Ensure all electrical work is executed under proper certification and authority

Additional Responsibilities

Monitor and report on energy efficiency where applicable Assist with electrical system upgrades and planning Liaise with utility providers (e.g.,

TNB

) and relevant government bodies Support electrical operations during maintenance shutdowns or emergency situations

Minimum

1 year

of relevant working experience Strong understanding of electrical systems, safety standards, and legal compliance Ability to work independently and under pressure Willingness to work on shifts, weekends, or be on standby as required
