General Requirement

Responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and management of the electrical systems within an organization or facility. This role ensures compliance with electrical safety standards, troubleshooting and maintaining electrical equipment, and supporting energy efficiency measures to maintain a safe working environment

Description

To maintain, monitor and conduct routine inspection on the functionality of the 11KV/415Volt Electrical switchgear, transformer, switchboard, UPS, ELV systems and Mechanical systems. To perform trouble shooting and repair of the Electrical systems, ELV systems and Mechanical systems. Assist, develop, propose, implement & monitor group strategies, policies and procedures - related to Building, Facility and Equipment Management and comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) Act & Regulation. Carry out technical audits to identify gaps in technical deliverables and propose solutions to minimize the gaps - Operational and Technical Test contingency plan for Building, Facility & Equipment operation that should include internal and external parties. To liaise with Hospital Engineer for any major decision can be made on any issued related to the building and facilities. Propose the organization in technology developments, documentation and strategies Propose and implement well proven strategies to reduce operating costs and increase productivity To standby when required 24 hour for any breakdown to the electrical system

Qualification & Licensing

Possesses a valid Chargeman B0 license issued by Energy Commission (ST), Malaysia. 5 Years Experience above in BO Chargeman field or same field Authorized to handle High Tension (HT) up to 11kV and Low Voltage (LV) electrical installations.

Technical Knowledge & Experience

Hands-on experience in operation, preventive/corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HT switchgear, transformer, LV switchboards, capacitor banks, MCCB, generators, UPS, etc. Competent in managing Permit to Work (PTW) and LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures. Able to read and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and electrical drawings.

Safety & Compliance

Strong understanding of Energy Commission regulations, DOSH (JKKP), Fire Department (BOMBA), TNB requirements, MS/IEC standards. Knowledge of emergency response procedures (e.g., electrical fire, blackout, transformer trip). Competent in performing HT/LV switching operations safely.

Management & Documentation

Capable of preparing and maintaining daily logbooks, incident reports, and preventive maintenance schedules. Able to supervise and coordinate with vendors, contractors, and technicians during electrical works.

Soft Skills / Work Attitude

Responsible & trustworthy - since electrical work involves high risks. Detail-oriented & proactive, with the ability to make decisions during emergencies. Good communication skills for teamwork with engineers, technicians, vendors, and management.
