Job Description

Job Scope:

Assist HOD in area of managing the high-tension (HT) operations and maintenance. Supervise, operate, and maintain HT electrical equipment and switchgear. Ensure smooth functioning of switchgears, transformers, gensets, circuit breakers, and power distribution systems. Conduct periodic inspections and preventive maintenance. Conduct troubleshooting and small repairs, if required. Diagnose and rectify faults in high-voltage electrical systems. Respond to emergency breakdowns and restore power supply efficiently. Perform testing and commissioning of new electrical installations. Ensure all electrical work complies with Energy Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Tenaga - ST) regulations. Implement and enforce electrical safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, FMA 1967). Conduct risk assessments and safety audits on HT equipment. To do documentation and reporting of HT equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Prepare technical reports and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Assist in energy efficiency and power quality monitoring. Supervise electrical technicians and contractors. Coordinate with utility companies (TNB) for power supply-related issues. Assist in project planning and electrical system upgrades.
Key Responsibilities

To ensure uninterrupted power supply and troubleshoot HT/MV/LV electrical issues. To turn on/off HT power supply equipment when required. To perform maintenance of HT switchgear, transformers, and LV generator sets. To conduct daily checks and inspections on HT equipment. To verify/approve work permits for subcontractors. To supervise electrical installation and maintenance subcontractors. To fully comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga's regulations and industry safety standards. To plan and implement preventive maintenance for HT equipment. To program and requisition of HT equipment replacement where necessary. To keep proper records of HT electrical maintenance activities. To undertake all other duties and responsibilities as so set by your superior.
Qualification:

Chargeman BO Certificate issued by the Energy Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Tenaga - ST). Competency in handling high-voltage (above 11kV) electrical installations. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HT electrical maintenance. Experience in commercial buildings is an advantage. Have a good understanding of electrical protection systems, switchgear operations, and power distribution. Having knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements. Possess ability to lead a team and coordinate with subcontractors. Willing to work in shift, weekends, and public holidays, when required. Have computer skills in Ms Excel, Ms Words, Ms Outlook). Able to multitask and willing to learn

Pay: RM6,500.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
