We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Chef de Partie to join our culinary team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining excellent standards of hygiene and efficiency.
Manage and coordinate activities in a designated section of the kitchen
Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards
Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in developing new menu items and improving existing recipes
Ensure proper food storage, handling, and rotation to maintain freshness and minimize waste
Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service and timely food delivery
Monitor and maintain kitchen inventory, placing orders for supplies as needed
Participate in menu planning and cost control initiatives
Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and maintain professional relationships with all staff
Qualifications
Culinary degree or diploma in culinary arts
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role
Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation
Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and hygiene standards
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities
Creativity and passion for culinary innovation
Proficiency in English; knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia is a plus
Familiarity with Malaysian cuisine and local ingredients
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the culinary field
