Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Malaysia cuisine and/or dessert preparation.
Knowledge of traditional Malaysia cooking techniques and presentation.
Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards.
Team player with good time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and during peak hours.
Tanggungjawab Food Preparation & Cooking
Prepare, cook, and serve Malaysia dishes e.g., nasi lemak, laksa, rendang, mee goreng etc. and traditional desserts e.g., pengat, kuih-muih, cendol, serawa, etc.
Follow standard recipes and presentation guidelines to maintain consistency.
Adjust seasoning, taste, and presentation to meet quality expectations.
Ensure proper portioning and minimize food wastage.
Kitchen Operations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas.
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and notify the manager for replenishment.
Handle kitchen equipment safely and ensure they are properly cleaned and maintained.
Follow daily prep schedules and complete production according to business demand.
Quality & Hygiene
Ensure all food is handled and prepared according to food safety and hygiene standards (based on MOH & Halal guidelines).
Label and store food properly to maintain freshness and avoid contamination.
Maintain personal hygiene and wear appropriate kitchen attire at all times.
Cost Control & Inventory
Monitor usage of raw materials and control wastage.
Assist in monthly stock count and inventory reporting.
Suggest ideas to improve efficiency or reduce costs without compromising quality.
Menu Development (Special Event)
Collaborate with management to introduce or improve traditional dessert and Malay menu items.
Participate in menu tastings and seasonal menu updates.
Provide feedback on customer preferences and food performance.
Teamwork & Supervision
Coordinate with kitchen assistants and service crew for smooth operations.
Train junior staff on recipes, hygiene, and kitchen standards.
Maintain a positive, cooperative working environment.
