The Opportunity

An exciting System Engineer role has just become available at one of the most respected global insurance based in Australia. The Senior Systems Engineer Citrix, VDI works at the highest Citrix systems level to provide advice and direction to users, management and IT project teams for systems that are complex in nature.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing and maintaining an enterprise scale of Citrix environment including the back-end and front end infrastructure, Citrix Provisioning Services including the vDisks, target device and the gold image and Access Gateway through the Citrix Application Delivery Controller or Citrix Netscaler on both type of platform (VPX and MPX)
• Upgrading the Citrix version through major release or regular Cumulative Updates
• Ensuring the performance of Citrix environment and the end user experience at optimal state, security features within Citrix are implemented wherever possible including regular review of security vulnerabilities related to Citrix.
• Implementing the Disaster Recovery strategy within Citrix and ensure the success of Citrix DR failover during the annual testing or real situation ensure system availability as per the agreed RTO/RPO.
• Continuously exploring any other VDI solutions that can provide more value to the business.
• Performing health checks for critical system components.
• Ensure monitoring for capacity management and incident management.
• Troubleshoot any issues pertaining to the Citrix infrastructure, provide root cause analysis and implementing permanent corrective actions.
• Work with the application team to assist in application related issues and provide recommendations for remediation.
• Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional weekend maintenance.
• Maintain inventory and asset configuration, technical and support documentation.
• Mentor / cross train team members on existing and new technologies

• 3-5 years hands on experience in managing and deploying Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop.
• Certification (CCA-V, CCA-N, Security+, MCSA/MCSE or any MS related Certifications).
• Expertise in

• Microsoft O365 Suite
• Mail proxy (Mimecast)
• Virtualization platform (VMWare)
• Active Directory, Group Policy, Active Directory Federation Service, Azure Active Directory Connect.
• Azure, Intune Endpoint Management
• Monitoring Tool (PRTG)
• Internet Proxy and Private Access (ZScaler)
• Backup (Asigra, KeepIT)
• Software Deployment Tool (VSA, SCCM)
• Patch management system (VSA, WSUS)
• Endpoint protection (Crowdstrike, Sentinel1)
• Automation, scripting
• Other technologies as the opportunity arises.
