This Is What You\'ll Be Doing Reports on a daily basis to the Patient Care Manager about Ante/Postpartum and Paediatrics while facilitating both the learning and staffing needs of the nursing team. Co-ordinates the daily activity and assists in patient population decision making of the unit/area. Accepts and completes special projects as assigned. Monitors the unit/area budget/supplies in conjunction with the Patient Care Manager. Co-ordinates and monitors the continuous Quality Management activities of the unit/area. This Is What You\'ll Need To Do It Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario Evidence of commitment to continuing education. BScN preferred or in progress. Current Certificate of Competence, BCLS, NRP, and Breastfeeding certification preferred. Clinical expertise in Antepartum/Intrapartum/Postpartum settings and Paediatrics required. IV skills and venipuncture mandatory. Member of AWHONN and/or CAPWHN (or a willingness to become one). Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel programs. Previous nursing leadership experience, including change management and conflict resolution skills. Excellent teaching, interpersonal and public relations skills. Able to work as a team member with peers, Program Leader, Patient Care Managers, Professional Practice Clinician, Physicians, and other multidisciplinary professionals. Participation on a regular basis in educational programs/upgrading. Demonstrated ability to support Program Leader, Patient Care Managers, Professional Practice Clinician, Physicians, and other multidisciplinary professionals and Halton Healthcare Services with managing change. Contemporary thinker with positive progressive vision. Ability to chair meetings, represent Halton Healthcare Services at community meetings, and assist with organizing events. Ability to coordinate and chair unit huddles daily Ability to liaise with consumers and other members of the public. Ability to co-ordinate activities within all areas of the program (e.g. researching, introducing, and implementing a new standard of care) Diverse professional background (e.g. multi-unit experience) Evidence of commitment to continuing education.
