JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides cloud infrastructure engineering support for Abbott Enterprise Cloud services APAC region. Follows a DevSecOps operating model to continuously integrate, deploy and scale our cloud infrastructure services. Accountable for delivering a comprehensive set of cloud infrastructure services including requirements definition, design, integration with infrastructure as code approach and handling operational support escalation, incident, problem, change and knowledge management and documentation. Participates in proof-of-concept analysis and vendor solution evaluations. Effectively communicates and partners with IS cross-functional teams, IT divisional customers and stakeholders in support of cloud initiatives. Maintain Cloud Infrastructure architecture best practices with robust design & automation. Technical scope covers deployment and operational support of Abbott\xe2\x80\x99s Azure / AWS Cloud Infrastructure IaaS/PaaS solutions

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Work On

Serve as a Cloud Operations Engineer for SAP cloud infrastructure support operations within Abbott Cloud Services regional support

Operate in DevSecOps, Agile Delivery and SLC methodologies adjusted for cloud infrastructure service delivery and operations

Leverage Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to build highly reliable cloud infrastructure, manage and operate at scale, solve technical problems, and automate operational tasks

Use Terraform modular approach to deploy all infrastructure as code (IaC) based solutions

Establishes build-and-destroy models for cloud infrastructure with blue/green, canary deployment patterns.

Implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines for the deployment of cloud infrastructure stacks of mission-critical enterprise applications Ex. SAP.

Drive cloud infrastructure service performance health, troubleshooting, operational metrics & capacity to meet/exceed business stakeholders and customer expectations

Manage restoration of cloud infrastructure recovery services, DR planning and execution

Evolve Infrastructure as Code frameworks for infra scaling adjustments and optimizations

Optimize cloud infra workloads for security, cost, performance, latency, reliability, and availability aspects

Automate cloud infra operational and lifecycle management tasks including provisioning, backups, patching, recovery, access mgmt.

Support IT audits and compliance, adhering to applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

Develop service implementation scripts, and provide top level support of IT cloud solutions aligned with customer\xe2\x80\x99s business objectives and other infrastructure technology disciplines within BTS-IS.

Assess the effectiveness of standards, methodologies, and processes, driving change proactively as appropriate for continuous improvement.

Position Accountability/Scope:

This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager Cloud Data Infrastructure & Operations in BTS.

The position is accountable for internal cost recovery mechanisms

This position is a technical escalation contact representing the Cloud infrastructure operations area to partner with all other Abbott IT and business organizations and key external service providers.

Accountable for 24x7 operational support of critical business infrastructure and maintaining availability and reliability of the infrastructure.

Accountable for awareness of technology trends and the determination/execution of global strategies that satisfy the business-critical reliance that Abbott is increasingly placing on its cloud infrastructure to host applications.

Directly impacts the operation and profitability of every division through their reliance on the cloud infrastructure to host Abbott\xe2\x80\x99s Enterprise and Business critical applications globally.

Experience and Education:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree preferred in a technology or information systems discipline

5+ years of overall IT experience

2+ years Azure/AWS IaaS/PaaS Experience

Must have AWS/Azure cloud certifications

Must have Skills:

Experience with Azure/AWS Compute, Storage IaaS/PaaS

Experience with Azure VNET, AWS VPC, Network Peering, Link Setup/Configurations management

Experience with Azure/AWS Data Protection & Backup/Recovery, DRaaS

Experience with Terraform (IaC), Ansible (Configuration management), Packer (Gold images)

Experience with Git (GitHub) and CI/CD Pipelines (Jenkins, CI/CD Argo or Azure DevOps)

Experience with handling ServiceNow (ITSM) Ticketing Support and Process integrations

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SAP technical infrastructure on-premise/cloud infra operations support is a plus

Experience with Windows/Linux guest operating systems support is a plus

Experience with Kubernetes, Dockers, Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) is a plus

Experience with Observability tools like New Relic / Data Dog / Dynatrace / LogicMonitor is a plus

Experience Jira (Scrum of Scrum - Sprint Tasks management), Confluence (Documentation) is a plus

Knowledge of any Cloud Databases \xe2\x80\x93 S/4 HANA, PostgreSQL, MongoDB is a plus

Knowledge of AIOPS/Machine Learning relevant for Cloud Infrastructure Operations is a plus

Knowledge of Cloud relevant SLA/SLO/SLI, Error Budget concepts is a plus

Knowledge of Project Management practices / certifications is a plus
