Selected Hyatt properties in Malaysia (Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort, Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu, Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur) are jointly seeking an experienced marketing and communications specialist with proven leadership abilities for the role of Cluster Assistant Director of Marketing Communications.



Background of the Position

The Cluster Assistant Director of Marketing Communications is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing communications strategy and activity for the Hyatt hotels under his/her care. This role is responsible for increasing awareness of the hotels \xe2\x80\x93 including by leveraging their respective brands and the World of Hyatt loyalty program, as well as driving consumer awareness and preference, and optimizing hotels\xe2\x80\x99 performance.

Reporting to the Directors of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort, Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu, Alila Bangsar Kuala Lumpur, this role is responsible for planning, directing and implementing the properties\xe2\x80\x99 marketing strategies, which include brand awareness initiatives, communications and public relations efforts, partnership and loyalty marketing, social media content marketing, digital and performance marketing as well as F&B marketing.

Aside from the hotel teams and other country-level Cluster Marketing Communications leads, this position will also partner above-property colleagues including the Digital Marketing lead for Malaysia and the Field Marketing Communications lead for the sub-region.

Major Responsibilities

MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for developing, implementing, and measuring the success of strategic marketing communications campaigns in key international and domestic feeder markets, focusing on metrics that matter.

  • Develop, proactively manage and implement the annual cluster marketing plan to include brand, digital, communications and loyalty marketing activities within the budget guidelines.
  • Serve as the brand custodian, ensuring all marketing materials are in line with corporate brand standards and within budget guidelines across all marketing activities.
  • Leading and guiding the hotel teams on crafting compelling stories and content (e.g., photos, videos, events).
PUBLIC RELATIONS

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for hotel communications efforts such as strategic hotel messaging for interviews and press releases, copywriting for speeches.

\xc2\xb7 Be accountable for the earned media efforts and lead coverage tracking and reporting of results and impact.

\xc2\xb7 Develop and nurture relationships with top-tier press and influencers and host familiarization visits at the hotels and the restaurants.

\xc2\xb7 Manage external agency resources.

DIGITAL CONTENT & SOCIAL MEDIA

\xc2\xb7 Oversee the development, execution, and performance review of the hotels\xe2\x80\x99 social media strategy, including organic content creation, influencer engagement strategy and paid social media activations.

\xc2\xb7 Initiate and facilitate any cross-promotional exposure opportunities with key stakeholders, including but not limited to, sister properties, above-property teams, third-party organizations, as well as media and influencers.
  • Lead strategic and effective content marketing across all owned and paid channels, including but not limited to brand website, OTAs, social media and partnership programs.
PARTNERSHIPS & COLLABORATIONS

\xc2\xb7 Initiate and drive strategic collaborations between and for the four hotels through joint paid media, campaign activations, partnerships, media relations activities, and community involvements.

\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with cross-functional, country-level and above-property teams for regional and market-level promotions and campaigns, including destination marketing and brand partnership initiatives.

PERFORMANCE MARKETING

\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with the Digital Cluster Director to plan and implement effective performance marketing strategy and tactics to drive preference and performance for the hotels.

\xc2\xb7 Own the optimization and continuous improvement of paid media channels, including social media advertising, PPC and Display campaigns.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure all paid media ads and content are in line with brand standards.

\xc2\xb7 Manage all media agency and support partner relationships related to performance marketing efforts and ensuring top industry best practices are met.

REPUTATION & CRISIS MANAGEMENT
  • Responsible for the overall reputation management of the hotel and providing guidance to the leadership committee and operations teams on the management of guest complaints.
  • Crafting social media review responses and effectively managing any online complaints and issues in a timely manner.
PEOPLE:

\xc2\xb7 Inspire and lead the hotels\xe2\x80\x99 marketing and communications teams to achieve each hotel\xe2\x80\x99s goals.

\xc2\xb7 Mentor and support team members on their career development

\xc2\xb7 Provide counsel and serve as the main liaison for key stakeholders, including but not limited to, above-property teams, hotels\xe2\x80\x99 Leadership Committee as well as direct reports, with regard to branding, digital and performance marketing, social media, marketing communications, public relations and partnership requests.

Qualifications:

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Communications, Marketing, or other related major.

\xc2\xb7 Minimum 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the communications, marketing communications, public relations or related professional areas.

\xc2\xb7 Minimum 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience leading a communications/marketing/public relations department or team.

\xc2\xb7 Hospitality marketing, or public relations/advertising agency experience is preferred.

\xc2\xb7 Experience in media relations and publicity for consumer brands is a plus.

\xc2\xb7 Experience in e-commerce and performance marketing knowledge will be an added advantage.
