Job Description

1. Role Overview

The CNC CAM Engineer is responsible for programming, optimizing, and overseeing CNC machining operations to produce precision components. This role bridges design and manufacturing, ensuring CAD models are accurately and efficiently transformed into high-quality parts.

2. Key Responsibilities

CAM Programming

: Develop CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, HyperMill); interpret CAD drawings; optimize toolpaths.

Tool Selection & Setup

: Identify appropriate tools, cutters, and fixtures; manage tooling libraries; liaise with suppliers for cost-effective solutions.

Process Optimization

: Plan machining sequences; conduct simulations; optimize feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters for efficiency and quality.

Machine Setup Support

: Collaborate with operators on setup; troubleshoot machining issues; provide guidance on alignment and fixtures.

Quality Assurance

: Ensure programs meet design tolerances; work with QA on inspections; apply corrective actions based on reports.

Continuous Improvement

: Implement process improvements; explore automation and new machining methods; stay updated on industry practices.

Documentation & Communication

: Maintain records of programs, setups, and parameters; coordinate with design, production, and QA teams.

Safety & Compliance

: Ensure safe CNC operation; adhere to company policies and industry standards.

3. Skills & Qualifications

Education

: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (preferred).

Experience

: 2-5 years of experience in CNC machining design or a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in CNC programming and machining, with expertise in CAM software.

Technical Skills

: Proficiency in CAM software and CNC programming. Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials. Ability to read and interpret CAD models, technical drawings, and GD&T. Hands-on experience with CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, multi-axis). Knowledge of quality control methods and measuring tools (CMM, OGP, calipers, micrometers). Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
