CAM Programming & Simulation

Program, simulate, and optimize toolpaths using

Autodesk PowerMill

for sculptural milling using a

KUKA robotic arm

with a

rotary CNC table

. Apply appropriate strategies for roughing and finishing EPS/styrofoam materials with high artistic precision. Post-process NC code and ensure smooth robotic motion with minimal collisions.

Part Splitting & Model Preparation

Split large or complex sculptures into smaller sections suitable for the machine's working area. Plan and execute model orientation, layout, and segmentation while preserving design intent. Coordinate with artists or designers to ensure the final output aligns with the intended visual outcome.

Machine Setup & Operation

Work closely with block-cutting staff to prepare and secure foam blocks on the machine. Align, fixture, and verify each block before machining begins. Operate the KUKA robot arm and monitor the entire milling process to avoid errors or machine crashes. Perform basic visual quality control post-milling.

Documentation & Production Tracking

Log every sculpture part

: sculpture name, part name/ID, material, dimensions, toolpath type, and actual milling time. Maintain a digital or manual tracking system for production flow, delays, and job completion dates.

Tool & Machine Maintenance

Monitor condition of wear-and-tear items

, such as cutting tools, collets, clamps, and fixtures. Raise

purchase requests

for replacements or consumables when required.

Communicate with machine suppliers or service providers

for: Scheduled maintenance Emergency breakdowns Diagnostics or troubleshooting support

Teamwork & Workshop Support

Liaise daily with workshop staff and artists to coordinate block handling, mounting, and finishing. Ensure team understands the correct orientation and part numbering of foam segments. Provide guidance to junior machinists or helpers as needed. Suggest improvements in CNC workflow, fixturing methods, and safety practices.

Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
