We are seeking a skilled COBOL Developer with strong experience in Card processing systems and ATM transaction modules. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mainframe technologies and will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and supporting core banking applications related to cards and ATM operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and deploy COBOL programs related to Cards and ATM processing.
Work with transaction systems like Base24, IST/Switch, or similar EFT systems.
Maintain and enhance existing mainframe applications (COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS).
Analyze and resolve issues in card management systems and ATM transaction flows.
Integrate and support third-party services and payment gateways.
Collaborate with QA, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders for requirement gathering and validation.
Provide production support, including incident and change management.
Participate in performance tuning, code reviews, and documentation.
Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years of experience in COBOL development (mainframe environment).
Strong hands-on knowledge of JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2.
Experience working with Card Processing (debit, credit) and ATM networks.
Knowledge of industry-standard EFT/ATM systems like Base24, Connex, NCR, Diebold, or equivalent.
Familiarity with ISO 8583 message formats and switching protocols.
Experience in supporting production environments with high transaction volumes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with payment gateways and transaction authorization systems.
Exposure to Agile or DevOps-based development processes.
Knowledge of security standards related to card data (e.g., PCI DSS).
Banking domain experience is a big plus.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
