We are seeking talented and passionate Commis I/II to join our culinary team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As a vital member of our kitchen brigade, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning
Follow recipes and cooking instructions precisely to ensure consistent quality
Prepare and present dishes according to established standards
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean and organized work station
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
Support senior chefs in menu development and special projects
Continuously learn and improve culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs
Qualifications
Equivalent qualification in culinary arts or related field
0-2 years of kitchen experience
Proficiency in various culinary techniques and cooking methods
Strong knowledge of food preparation and presentation
Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
Passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary techniques
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Basic math skills for recipe conversions and inventory management
Attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
