Job Summary:

As a Commis - Pastry & Bakery you will support the pastry and bakery team in preparing a variety of high-quality breads, pastries, and desserts. You will learn essential techniques across both disciplines and help ensure timely, hygienic, and consistent production for the hotel's dining outlets. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone passionate about baking and pastry arts.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing a variety of baked goods, desserts, and pastries including cakes, tarts, bread, and mousses. Follow standard recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. Ensure proper storage of all ingredients and finished products. Assist in monitoring stock levels and report shortages. Collaborate with kitchen staff and other departments to ensure timely service. Participate in training and development sessions to enhance pastry knowledge and skills. Uphold the hotel's quality and presentation standards at all times.

Requirements:

Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts / Pastry or equivalent experience. Basic knowledge of pastry techniques and kitchen equipment. Passion for baking and willingness to learn. Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment. Good personal hygiene and grooming standards. Flexible with working hours, including weekends and public holidays. Previous internship or work experience in a pastry / bakery kitchen is an advantage.
