Job Description

Client is a multinational PMC who is currently active in various data centre construction projects, hiring Commissioning Manager for overall delivery of data centre construction projects in Johor Bahru.



A Data Centre Commissioning Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire commissioning process for critical data centre infrastructure, ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems are installed, tested, and validated to meet performance requirements. Key duties include developing commissioning plans, coordinating vendors and third-party agents, leading system acceptance testing (FAT, SAT, IST), and managing project schedules, budgets, and documentation to ensure a successful, operational handover to clients.

Key responsibilities

Develop and manage commissioning plans

: Create and implement comprehensive plans, schedules, and protocols for the commissioning process, often in alignment with industry standards like the Uptime Institute.

Oversee system testing

: Lead and coordinate the testing and validation of critical systems, including electrical (UPS, generators, switchgear), mechanical (HVAC, chillers), Building Management Systems (BMS), and fire/life safety.

Coordinate stakeholders

: Act as the main point of contact for all involved parties, including clients, engineering teams, construction crews, third-party commissioning agents, and vendors.

Lead testing phases

: Manage and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) to verify system readiness and performance.

Manage documentation and reporting

: Ensure all commissioning documentation, test scripts, and reports meet audit and certification standards and provide regular progress reports to management.

Ensure compliance

: Confirm that all installation and commissioning activities comply with quality, environmental, and safety requirements.

Support handover

: Assist in the training and final handover of the completed systems to the client's facilities and operations teams.

Troubleshoot issues

: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues that arise during the commissioning process.

Required qualifications and skills



Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Extensive experience in data center commissioning and qualification. Strong project management skills, including experience with budgets, schedules, and change orders. Proficiency with commissioning plans, test scripts, and reporting. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel as needed. Comfort working in a fast-paced, construction environment.

Pay: RM18,000.00 - RM25,000.00 per month
