Detailed Description:

  • Incumbents are fully qualified to execute job/role accountabilities working independently on most aspects of the job. Work is performed within established professional standards and practices.
  • Tasks are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required to complete recurring assignments independently and to determine the best methods to follow to complete assignments.
  • Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may have a negative impact on the division\'s/department\'s operations, schedules, and/or performance goals. Works under general Supervision.
  • Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to manager or expert resource. May demonstrate work methods to new employees.
  • Builds internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job/role accountabilities, such as relationships with key suppliers, customers and internal service.
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Maintains regional or global responsibility for a specific commodity or group of commodities for price/value determination, sourcing, negotiations, terms & conditions and supplier relationship development working independently. Quotes and negotiates all products and services quarterly.
  • Develops cost of customer bids within response time objectives. Supports bid activities by interacting with the site teams to compile and deliver the material commitment to the customer.
  • Participates in Commodity Council Corporate negotiation team and /or the Customer Materials Commitment process by providing material pricing and data analysis.
  • Conducts Quarterly Business Reviews with top suppliers and review customer BOMs for quarterly commits.
  • Coordinates any supplier communication. Reviews and resolves issues on supplier performance feedback, supplier report card and bids. Supports the site SCM buying teams in times of product shortage or suppliers not meeting performance requirements including escalation within the supplier and alternative source development/recommendations.
  • Supports customers to resolve quality, serviceability and performance related issues for products or bid activities. Consolidates, tabulates, analyzes and reports on various commitment and performance metrics.
  • Execute 2023 MVP proposal packages.
  • (i) 2023 Identify MVP proposals (ii) Die-cut opportunity (iii) Mechanical parts
  • Download parts drawings and specifications from Defense Matrix.
  • Gather all details specification, part list, AVL, standard etc before send out to PSL thru Celestica EFT portal to relevant MVP suppliers.
  • Provide RFQ details with EAU, MOQ, target price, incoterm and etc to the invited PSL suppliers to quote.
  • Set-up timeline and follow up with respective suppliers to submit quotes on time. Provide assistance to suppliers if they need any help.
  • Provide cost comparison and analysis template with potential cost savings for a quick decision to make on the proposals for Localization to Commodity Manager
  • Cross check the material, special process specification and also compliance with the report and so on to ensure compliance
  • Once MVP projects being awarded, work with the supplier to provide the milestone chart to monitor components FAIR submission and CCA FAIR approval for the closure
  • Ensure the latest PIR, lead time, OSA, Qspec and necessary approvals are in place.
  • Work with team for customer approval and keep track inside Master MVP tracker
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
  • Working knowledge of the marketplace conditions for the area of specialization including industry pricing, technology and supply/demand trends.
  • Strong systems skills, including common office platforms such as MS Office and Access
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of specific customer needs.
  • Good communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.
  • Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to consolidate, manipulate and analyze large quantities of data.
Physical Demands:
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
Typical Experience:
  • Two to four years relevant experience.
Typical Education:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in related field (Business or Engineering), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
