Job Responsibilities
Plans facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations. Leads architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings for industrial construction projects. Develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique factory/ research lab operating requirements and building safety codes. Leads engineers, consultants, and procurement professionals to develop bid documents and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs. Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
Understands legal concepts and commercial terms and conditions of traditional construction contracting instruments
Demonstrated construction project cost control experience with responsibility for presenting monthly project status reports and revised capital forecasts to company finance executives
Strong safety culture
Capable of supporting multiple concurrent projects and assignments
Values internal and cross-functional teamwork to solving problems
Demonstrated ability working directly with mechanical contractors and service providers to ensure delivery of operational result
Assertive nature and willingness to support customer needs when challenged
Thrives in a fast paced, high-energy work environment
Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving and root cause analysis skills
Minimum of 15 years of related work experience with a bachelor\'s degree in mechanical, civil, or structural engineering
