Job Description

As a Consultant you join the Express System Integration Team that is maintaining a product called DCG Framework. It is a customer self-service onboarding tool with its UI. The Team focuses on the delivery of application integration solutions supporting the business goals to rationalize and simplify its current global IT landscape. You will work on global integration projects interconnecting various applications involved in Express business process. You will act as trusted advisor and seek the right solution for complex integration issues. You will assess existing application integration solutions and design future ones. You will ensure that future solutions are reusable, supportable and aligned with the integration platform capabilities. You will provide costs and effort estimates for the delivery of new application integration solutions. You will support the work of integration analysts and developers located in all DHL IT Services sites. You will help solving production issues.

YOUR WORK:

• Work as Integration Solution Consultant on global projects

• Communicate with internal customers in order to fully understand integration solution requirements

• Interact with all teams involved in the project delivery in order to ensure your design fits the end to end solution purpose

• Deliver application integration solution design documents

• Support the project delivery team during the solution implementation, testing and troubleshooting

• Create cost and effort estimate for new application integration solution proposal

• Become a trusted advisor for integration related topics

• Act as 3rd level support for existing application integration solution

YOU SHOULD HAVE:

• Strong IT background preferably with computer science degree

• Demonstrable experience in application integration area and integration solution design

• Experience in formalizing business requirements and communicate them to stakeholders

• Understanding of different types of messaging topologies, integration patterns, transport protocols, datastore types and how data can flow across systems

• Strong analytical skills, root cause analysis skills

• Understanding of data mapping specification and data modelling

• Ability to combine technical knowledge and insight with strong advisory / consultancy skills

• Strong customer orientation and global teamwork approach

• Attitude to act proactively, able to work independently on small to large projects, planning own time and resolving conflicts to achieve time, quality and budget

INTEGRATION TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• XML, flat files

• Transport protocols (FTP, sFTP, HTTP, HTTPs)

• Visual modeling of integration / data flows (Microsoft Visio)

• Basics of Linux or Unix scripting languages

• Basics of relational DB and SQL

• webMethods suite or similar integration middleware

• EDI (X12 and EDIFACT)

• Message queue principles (MQ,JMS)

• Integration design patterns and best practices
