The Public Sector & Government (PSG) team within Frost & Sullivan empowers public sector, government and quasi-government organizations as well as multilateral organizations to drive transformation and enhancement that ultimately benefits society and enables economic growth by leveraging our global reach, wide and deep industry expertise, knowledge of the current and evolving industry ecosystems as well as a keen understanding of emerging disruptive technologies and innovative business models.



The PSG team provides support to our clients in areas of infrastructure development, policy / regulatory review & formulation, development of industry & technology roadmaps, investment promotion, organizational development, and transformation to drive economic development outcomes in order to benefit citizens while mitigating risks and challenges.



Given our growth plans and ambitions, we have an exciting opportunity in the PSG Advisory team based in Malaysia for a Consulting Associate to strengthen our project delivery capabilities in the region. As a Consulting Associate, you will be a part of a dynamic global team that strives for excellence in meeting client objectives. The candidate will help build our expertise by developing insightful strategic research to support client engagement and project delivery as well as contribute to commercial activities. You will be encouraged to develop your intellectual curiosity, learn to leverage visionary innovation to address the global challenges facing public sector entities and will be provided the ability to collaborate across various areas of the company.

About the Role

As a Consulting Associate, your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough background research (both primary and secondary/desk research) and data analysis to support client projects. At this stage, the key objective is to develop strong analytical and critical thinking skills, laying the foundation for future growth. In addition, you will be expected to embrace and embody the core values of the organization, while integrating seamlessly into the team and contributing to a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive secondary / desk research across markets, segments, and industries. Undertake primary research with the key and appropriate stakeholders as required to garner insights for the project Perform basic quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Synthesize data and information into clear, actionable analysis. Develop high-quality reports in MS Word and presentations in MS PowerPoint with strong visual storytelling. Apply generative AI tools effectively, following company guidelines. Deliver tasks on time, accurately, and with minimal supervision, even under pressure. Communicate fluently in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken. Collaborate effectively, resolving conflicts constructively when needed. Travel domestically and regionally when required.

Required Competencies

We are seeking a curious, methodical, and strategic thinker who can connect the dots between data, industry trends, public policy, and business impact. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with excellent communication skills, professional presence, and resilience in dynamic situations.


A relevant university degree (BA, BS) in Business, Economics, Finance, Law, Public Administration, or Public Policy. A postgraduate degree (Master's or PhD) is highly regarded and considered an advantage. A fresh graduate or with up to 12 months' relevant experience in consulting, advisory, or related fields. The ability to craft coherent, well-structure narratives based on underlying data and trends in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. A foundational understanding of the public sector structures, policy impact, regulatory frameworks, industry roadmaps and governance. Detailed oriented with strong critical thinking and ability to translate research into practical recommendations Capacity to build and maintain relationships aligned to clients' strategic needs. Willingness to develop confidence in presenting to peers, clients, and on camera, with the ability to defend your analysis. Experience in public speaking and debates is considered an advantage. A team player who views team collaboration as an important path to professional development.
