Join the winning team now!Work you\'ll doThe role of Consulting Research Manager for Financial Services, is responsible for collating information and synthesizing market level and company level insights for ASEAN markets and focused on our financial services clients (including banks and insurances companies). This entails combing through macro data, financial statements and other public documents to estimate their financial worth.We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to lead our SEA FSI (Financial Services Industry) Research Unit. The successful candidate will oversee a team of research professionals and will be responsible for conducting in-depth research, analyzing financial and competitive market data, and generating actionable market intelligence for use across ASEAN countries and Banking and Insurance clients. This role requires a strong background in research, excellent analytical skills, project management and the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholdersThis is a manager level role, with a team of research specialists to oversee and guide, in addition to identifying the right information sources, and structuring the analysis for them to achieve results which will be utilized by our consulting teams across the region in projects and discussions with financial services clientsResponsibilities includes:A. Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive research on financial services and insurance markets across ASEAN countries.
  • Analyze market trends, industry reports, annual filings and financial data to generate insights and intelligence.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of industry developments, regulations, and emerging trends.
B. Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of research analysts.
  • Assign research projects, set objectives, and ensure the team meets deadlines and quality standards.
  • Provide guidance and support in data analysis, report writing, and presentation development.
C. Market Intelligence Generation:
  • Synthesize research findings into actionable market intelligence for clients.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored to client needs.
  • Ensure the accuracy and relevance of all market intelligence and insights provided.
D. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their specific needs and customize research outputs accordingly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across ASEAN markets, addressing their queries and feedback.
  • Might be required to occasionally attend and participate in client meetings to present research findings and recommendations.
E. Database and Report Management:
  • Oversee the management of research databases and ensure the integrity and frequency of data refresh
  • Review and analyze existing reports and databases to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of research outputs and reports to stakeholders
F. Strategic Planning:
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and research methodologies for the consulting research center.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing research processes and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align research activities with organizational goals.

Requirements:Experience in the following areas is highly regarded:
  • Minimum of Bachelor\'s degree (Business, Technology, Finance, Economics) or in a closely related field.
  • Candidate should have solid market research background and a minimum of 5 years experience in market research industry
  • At least 2 years of experience in a managerial or team leadership role.
  • A strong preference will be given if you have prior experience in tracking financial institutions and market trends in ASEAN region, and can effectively analyze bank financial statements and generate performance indicators.
  • Candidate must have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
  • Proficiency in research tools and databases, such as Thomson Reuters, EIU or similar platforms.
  • Experience with data analysis software and tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau)
  • Candidate must be self-motivated individuals with the ability to work independently or with little supervision
  • Research/ analysis/ financial professional certification will be an added advantages.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively, and also prepare reports for management.
  • Detail-oriented individuals to achieve a high degree of accuracy.
  • Able balance multiple projects under pressure amid tight deadlines.
