  • Ensure the financial reporting system and the preparation of audit financial statements are in compliance with the Malaysia Financial Reporting Standards (\xe2\x80\x9cMFRS\xe2\x80\x9d), Companies Act 2016, Income Tax Act 1967 and the relevant requirements for statutory bodies.
  • Review monthly financial management accounts on a timely basis and accurate manner.
  • Primary responsible for the monthly Financial Results for SEB, SESCO & SER Group of Companies and Group Management Report to the top management on a timely basis and accurate manner.
  • Review manual journals prepared by Assistant Accountants and Accountants before posting into SAP and check manual journals posted by other business units for its accuracy in relation to accounting period, amount and GL account code.
  • Review and approve account receivables invoices, debit notes, credit notes that is in compliance with regulatory requirements and agreements.
  • Review reconciliation/schedules prepared during the month-end closing process, which includes intercompany reconciliations, bank reconciliations, inventory reconciliations (physical stocks vs books\' value) and etc.
  • Monitor and analyse account receivables/payables ageing and follow up with necessary action on long outstanding debts to ensure timely collection/payment.
  • Monitor and analyse accruals ageing and long outstanding GR/IR and take necessary action to clear long outstanding items.
  • Prepare Board Papers and presentation slides for Board meetings and monthly (or quarterly) presentation slides on financial results for finance meetings.
  • Execute the financial controls which cover processes, policies and procedures and improvement initiatives.
  • Co-ordinate with independent auditors and internal tax department by ensuring all audit/tax issues are resolved and compliance requirements are met.
  • Scheduling and co-ordinate for cycle and year end stock take.
  • Analyze the impact of foreign operations on reported financial results, including foreign exchange transactions. [if any]
  • Perform technical accounting research on various issues.
  • Provide accounting operational support to various business units whenever needed.
  • Participate and provide support in financial due diligence, fund raising exercises, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity investments or divestments, hedge accounting, corporate restructuring, tax planning and compliances.
  • Carry out such other assignment and duties as instructed by the Head of Department.
THINKING ENVIRONMENT & CHALLENGES (PROBLEM-SOLVING):
  • To perform all tasks in line with the Information Security Quality Manual (ISQM) and the ISMS roles and responsibilities procedure.
  • To perform all tasks in line with the Information Governance Policy Suite and Guidelines.
  • Always be alert and aware of the changes in the reporting requirements as to comply with the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards, Income Tax Act, 1967 as well as the Companies Act 2016 in Malaysia.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE (KNOW-HOW):
  • Recognized degree in Accountancy or an equivalent professional qualification, Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
  • Minimum 6 years of related experience in accounting and reporting functions with minimum 3 years of experience with public practice firm.
  • In-depth knowledge with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards, International Financial Reporting Standards and the requirements of the Companies Act 2016 in Malaysia.
  • Strong accounting and group consolidation knowledge.
  • Knowledgeable and effective compliance of tax rulings and business laws.
  • Knowledgeable and experience of SAP Project System Module (PS), SAP Plant Maintenance Module (PM), SAP Financial & Control Module (FICO) and ISUCCS Module are advantages.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and skill in Microsoft Office application programs.
  • Strong analytical skills to cut through complexity.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgement, support and explains reasoning for decision and makes timely decisions.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to work towards deadlines, prioritise and handle multiple projects at any one time.
  • Generate several alternative options and makes a well-reasoned decision based on an analysis of the risks and opportunities.
