Summary

The Core Service ITR Engineering team is responsible for providing engineering support for all activities associated with outages, parts, repairs and minor upgrades. This includes NPI, ITO and OTR, across all OEM and targeted oOEM fleets for generator. The team is distributed globally with local teams in the Regions, complemented by central/global teams with domain-expertise and capacity for fleet and technology.

: As a member of the Generator Core Service ITR Engineering team, you will be an active contributor in providing engineering assistance for all activities associated with outages, parts, repairs and minor upgrades . This role will require you to be involved with NPI (New product introduction), ITO (Initiation to Order) and OTR (Order to Remittance), across all OEM (Original equipment manufacturer) and targeted oOEM (other OEM) fleets for generator. The Core Services ITR Engineer based in Kuala Lumpur / Singapore / Manila / Bangkok / Perth, will play a key role in the Steam Power Generator ITR Engineering team, dedicated to enabling the Asia Region to tender & execute projects to a high quality and provide customer facing engineering support at all phases of the ITR (Initiation to Remittance) process. Success in this role looks like: Establish yourself as a subject matter expert by demonstrating thorough knowledge in generator design, operation, and servicing . You will be an indispensable team member of the APAC generator engineering team, leveraging your technical experience in generator service, including routine inspections, overhauls, rewinding activities, and associated measurements to help the region through all ITR phases. As a Core Services ITR Engineer, you will be expected to work with Sales & CSLs through the tendering phase of the ITO/ OTR process, collaborate with the Global Repair Network & Sourcing to determining costs, provision the outage planning and scoping of customer projects. Assure compliance with design standards/ practices/ internal processes, and be on-time in fulfilling program objectives, schedules, cost and quality requirements. The Core Services ITR Engineer will also encourage projects through execution with engineering requests and dispositions. Your Role:
  • Provide primary funding through the ITO/ OTR offering phases as the technical main for the bid, including scope description, BOM, RFQ review, technical clarifications, technical risk identification, TRS and when appropriate provision of costing and schedule.
  • Escalate issues as required acting as the liaison between the field and design engineering to drive specific technical resolution and to help engineering identify, drive corrective actions.
  • Provide outage planning and outage optimisation for the regional fleet of Generators.
  • Backing technology transfer into the GRS/ Field Core networks and region engineering teams.
  • Provide technical guidance, both through collaboration and consultation, to less experienced engineers and to other individuals responsible for Generator service/ repairs. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues
  • Help cost reduction, cycle reduction, and product quality enhancement projects.
  • Author or contribute to the development of FSI procedures/ work instructions/ standards and design practices associated with this technology area. Highlight lessons learned and makes repair practices/ design standards changes or other appropriate changes in practices to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure technical risks are managed effectively to the successful delivery of the system.
Required Qualifications:
  • Degree qualified, or equivalent, in Engineering
  • Considerable experience of generator outage planning and processes, including routine inspections, overhauls, rewinding activities, brazing methods, insulation technologies and associated measurements.
