Job Description

We are looking for a Corporate Counsel \xe2\x80\x93 South East Asia.

Your primary duty is to support the General Counsel \xe2\x80\x93 of South East Asia on all legal and compliance matters in the South East Asia region, focusing on Indonesia. This role involves direct interaction with internal clients and external parties such as clients, vendors, and other third parties. You\xe2\x80\x99ll identify and manage risk exposures and deliver proactive, effective, and strategic advice for our operations in South East Asia.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll be essential in advising on, drafting, and negotiating contracts associated with the firm\xe2\x80\x99s business lines, including assisting with tender responses. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also be reporting on the legal and regulatory systems of Indonesia and ensuring that we comply with relevant legal and ethical obligations.

Contributing to the team\xe2\x80\x99s strategic direction

Your role involves providing support to each of the firm\xe2\x80\x99s business interests and commercial objectives. You\xe2\x80\x99ll assist in the firm\xe2\x80\x99s global legal, compliance, and special projects, including entity set-up, M&A, and joint ventures. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also be assisting with developing processes and procedures to identify and manage legal risks, including training and handling ethics and compliance issues. In addition, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be responsible for handling disputes, including HR issues and litigation management.

Other areas of legal work will include general corporate, commercial and regulatory work, focusing on the issues associated with the property services industry.

Educated and experienced - hold a law degree from a recognized law school with 8-12+ years post-admission experience in private practice or an in-house position. It would be great if you have experience working in an MNC and fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

A people person can build solid relationships and engage with a broad range of stakeholders with diverse skill sets and personalities. You also have good communication skills.

Capable - You\xe2\x80\x99re commercially savvy, with a highly responsive, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset. You can effectively juggle priorities to meet timeframes and deadlines set by the business. You\xe2\x80\x99re also able to work independently as well as in a team.
