Job Description


We are looking for a Corporate Counsel - South East Asia . Your primary duty is to support the General Counsel - of South East Asia on all legal and compliance matters in the South East Asia region, focusing on Malaysia. This role involves direct interaction with internal clients and external parties such as clients, vendors, and other third parties. You\'ll identify and manage risk exposures and deliver proactive, effective, and strategic advice for our operations in South East Asia. You\'ll be essential in advising on, drafting, and negotiating contracts associated with the firm\'s business lines, including assisting with tender responses. You\'ll also be reporting on the legal and regulatory systems of Malaysia and ensuring that we comply with relevant legal and ethical obligations. Contributing to the team\'s strategic direction Your role involves providing support to each of the firm\'s business interests and commercial objectives. You\'ll assist in the firm\'s global legal, compliance, and special projects, including entity set-up, M&A, and joint ventures. You\'ll also be assisting with developing processes and procedures to identify and manage legal risks, including training and handling ethics and compliance issues. In addition, you\'ll be responsible for handling disputes, including HR issues and litigation management. Other areas of legal work will include general corporate, commercial and regulatory work, focusing on the issues associated with the property services industry. To apply, you need to be Educated and experienced - hold a law degree from a recognized law school with 8-12+ years post-admission experience in private practice or an in-house position. It would be great if you have experience working in an MNC a nd fluent in English and Bahasa Malay . A people person can build solid relationships and engage with a broad range of stakeholders with diverse skill sets and personalities. You also have good communication skills. Capable- You\'re commercially savvy, with a highly responsive, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset. You can effectively juggle priorities to meet timeframes and deadlines set by the business.
