Job Description

A cost accountant is a professional responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on financial data related to the cost of producing goods or services within an organization. They help management make informed decisions by providing insights into cost efficiency, budgeting, and pricing strategies.

• Oversee inventory valuation and tracking processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Implement and maintain costing methodologies such as standard costing or activity-based costing to accurately assess the cost of goods sold.
• Analyze inventory-related data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize production processes.
• Collaborate with procurement and production teams to streamline inventory levels and improve cost efficiency throughout the supply chain.
• Prepare regular reports and analysis on inventory performance and cost variances for management review and decision-making.

• 5-10 years in costing manufacturing industry
• Bachelor degree in accountancy, finance/ Chartered Accountant
• Good command of English and strong interpersonal skills
• Good knowledge in Excel (Pivot, Sumif, vlookup, added advantage if know macro)
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to handle varied volumes of workloads and to meet targets and deadlines on time
• Demonstrate and foster customer focus, teamwork, accountability, initiative and innovation
• Decision taking ability under tight deadlines
• Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement
