Job responsibilities
Provides practical legal advice on legal matters
Monitors changes in laws and regulations globally to ensure Company adaptation and compliance
Supports country-level legal activities, including required notifications and filings
Drafts notices, data processing agreements, and other documentation to support the Company?s processing of personal data
Supports the negotiation of customer and vendor data processing and data sharing agreements
Supports customer and vendor audits and regulatory inspections as required
Contributes to the drafting of Company policies, procedures and processes
May serve as a member of the Company?s incident response team
Manages external counsel in accordance with outside counsel guidelines, within specified budgetary limits, and in line with business and legal management?s expectations
Works collaboratively across the Office of the General Counsel, including the Company?s global team of regional-based attorneys, to build consensus on process improvements and drive corporate legal projects to completion

Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Minimal travel may be required (up to 25%).
Qualifications What we?re looking for
Law degree from an accredited university; licensed to practice law
Industry certifications required, such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT
Industry experience in a healthcare or life sciences company, such as a CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical drug development company or a technology company preferred but not required
Experience with structuring and negotiating complex business arrangements
High level of business acumen
Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
Ability to collaborate with colleagues and take a business-oriented approach while identifying and balancing risks and providing succinct, accurate and pragmatic advice
Must be able to work under tight deadlines and interact with lawyers and business teams globally
Exceptional analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and risk assessment skills
Independent judgment, attention to detail, a desire to learn, and an ability to take on and prioritize a wide variety of complex matters while meeting tight deadlines
Outstanding relationship-building, interpersonal and communication skills
Can-do attitude, ability to work under pressure and to manage the expectations of clients
Creative problem-solving ability with a focus on achieving client-friendly solutions while managing company risk
