1. Develop and enforce Credit Policy (credit terms, deposit requirements, rebates, penalties).
2. Set credit limits and terms for each customer (based on risk assessment).
3. Approve or reject credit applications for new customers.
4. Review & adjust credit limits periodically.
5. Review Debtor Aging Reports and DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) trends.
6. Identify high-risk customers and create action plans.
7. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
8. Decide when to escalate overdue cases to legal (e.g., Letter of Demand, court action).
9. Supervise Credit Control Executives and provide guidance.
10. Allocate workloads (invoicing, reminder schedules, follow-up calls).
11. Train team members in credit management best practices.
12. Resolve conflicts between Sales & Credit Control (balancing relationship vs. cash flow).
13. Handle sensitive cases directly (major dealers, high-value customers).
14. Negotiate settlement plans with delinquent customers (payment restructuring, installment plans).
15. Liaise with Sales Managers to align collection strategies with business goals.
16. Authorize reminder letters, final notices, and Letter of Demand.
17. Engage external solicitors or collection agencies when required.
18. Represent company in legal discussions or settlements.
19. Prepare monthly/quarterly AR KPI reports (DSO, overdue %, top debtors, collection achievement).
20. Advise Finance Director/GM on provision for doubtful debts.
