Job Summary
As a key leader within CBRE's Facilities Management team, the Critical Services Supervisor (Tiger Team Lead) plays a vital role in driving operational excellence within a greenfield data center environment. This position is instrumental in ensuring a seamless transition from construction to full-scale operations, proactively resolving critical challenges, and supporting dynamic end-user requirements.
Leading a high-performing Tiger Team, the Supervisor is accountable for maintaining peak facility performance, safeguarding uptime, and ensuring strict adherence to operational protocols. The role demands a high level of technical expertise, decisive leadership, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, 24/7 mission-critical setting.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management:
Lead, mentor, and supervise the Tiger Team technicians, ensuring they are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to perform their duties effectively.
Manage the team's roster, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts and adherence to the four-days-on, four-days-off schedule.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement within the team.
Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, promoting open communication and knowledge sharing.
Operational Handover & Support:
Oversee the operational handover process from construction to operations, ensuring all necessary documentation, systems, and processes are in place.
Collaborate with the project team to address outstanding works and resolve any issues impacting the facility's readiness for operations.
Support Client with end-user demands during the integration and migration of capacity, ensuring a seamless transition.
Technical Expertise & Oversight:
Possesses comprehensive expertise in data center operations, with a strong focus on managing and maintaining critical infrastructure systems including PDUs, UPS, generators, advanced cooling systems (CRACs, chillers), BMS, fire safety, and security systems.
Oversees the implementation of Change Control processes and Method of Procedure (MOP) execution
Ensures accurate and up-to-date asset documentation, including drawings, manuals, and maintenance records
Manages the BMS integration process, ensuring proper configuration, monitoring, and control of critical systems
Oversees the management of critical spares, ensuring adequate inventory levels and timely replenishment
Coordinates and participates in training programs for the Tiger Team and other Facilities Management (FM) personnel
Oversees and participates in Emergency Switching Procedures
Compliance & SafetyEnsure all activities align with CBRE policies, procedures, and industry best practices
Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations and promoting a strong safety culture within the team
Ensure compliance with all applicable data center standards and regulations
Reporting & Communication
Provide regular reports on Tiger Team activities, performance, and key metrics
Communicate effectively with the Facilities Manager, Operations Manager, project team, and other stakeholders
Maintain clear and concise communication logs, documenting all significant events and actions taken
EMPLOYEE JOB DESCRIPTION
Qualifications and Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
Relevant certifications such as Data Center Design Professional or Certified Data Centre Professional are a plus
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations or a related field
At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Experience in a greenfield data center environment is highly desirable
Technical Skills
* Expert knowledge of critical data center infrastructure systems (power, cooling, BMS, etc.)
