About the Role

Are you an expert in guarantee and bond (suretyship) issuance with strong interpersonal skills and enjoy direct client contact?

This might be your next challenge:

You will be responsible to service International Surety clients. This includes the timely and accurate handling of client requests and inquiries, as well as the issuance of international bonds and guarantees or instructing network partners.

In particular your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Closely interact and coordinate with internal stakeholders in Operations and Underwriting located in various regions and markets, as well as with external stakeholders such as clients, brokers, and network partners
Process and administer cross boarder surety bonds and guarantees in systems and tools, including checking and coordinating issuance of such documents and administrate through their entire lifecycle

Support the underwriting during renewal processes, obtaining quotes and coordination with the client and broker in regards of international bonds and guarantees including drafting guarantee wordings

Administer syndicated loans, co-insurance, risk participation and other complex transactions

Analyze and identify premium and fee discrepancies and determine appropriate measures

Credit & Surety Operations is an emerging team transforming into a trusted partner, closely collaborating with the global Surety business teams. With passion, as well as our service and customer orientation we strive for high customer satisfaction and help the business to achieve its profitable growth aspiration. Our team is spread across many locations in Europe, Asia Pacific, as well as North and Latin America. As part of the International Surety transformation project, we are implementing a International Surety Model with new roles and responsibilities, standardize and improve processes and implement a new strategic IT landscape.

Education

Completed commercial education preferably banking specialist or bachelor studies in economics or law
Associates Degree or job experience equivalent

Relevant professional experience

Insurance/Reinsurance experience with cross boarder guarantees issuance

Experience in dealing with network partners is a plus
Basic knowledge and understanding of guarantee business as well as direct and cross boarder issuance, counter guarantees
Basic knowledge on sanctions and AML procedures, commercial and company law, URDG758, ICISA forms and other intranational rules
Previous experience in client facing role preferably in finance environment

Linguistics

Proficiency in the English language is a must and knowledge of Chinese language, reading, written and verbal, is plus.
Additional languages of relevant markets (especially Spanish, French, German) are a plus

Technical Competencies

Demonstrate good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office. Basic Internet knowledge is a must. SWIFT messages for documentary business a plus
Demonstrate competency in intermediate level math, administrative and clerical procedures including handling files and records, general economic and accounting principles, and processes for providing customer service
Excellent reading comprehension, verbal and written

Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, seminars, and programs to learn about new processes and guidelines, learn new skills, and stay updated with the team supported.
