Job Description

The CSR Hull / Marine is responsible for overseeing the structural integrity, marine compliance, and quality assurance of vessels, hulls, and marine equipment within offshore or shipyard operations. The role ensures that vessels meet client, regulatory, and industry standards, including safety, operational, and environmental requirements.

This position is key in providing marine assurance, technical inspections, and hull integrity verification, supporting safe and compliant operations in fabrication, maintenance, and offshore deployment activities.

Description



Conduct Hull and Marine inspections on vessels, offshore support craft, and marine structures in accordance with client and regulatory requirements. Verify compliance with classification society rules, flag state regulations, SOLAS, MARPOL, and internal QA/HSE standards. Assess structural integrity, welding, coatings, hull modifications, and overall vessel condition. Review vessel documentation, drawings, maintenance records, and certificates. Prepare and submit detailed inspection and survey reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective actions. Collaborate with project teams, shipyards, and contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards. Support Marine Warranty Surveys (MWS), lifting, and offshore transport operations as required. Monitor hull and marine equipment maintenance and ensure adherence to preventive maintenance programs. Liaise with internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities regarding hull and marine compliance matters. Stay updated on industry standards, classification rules, and regulatory changes affecting hull and marine operations.

Requirements



Bachelors degree or diploma in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in marine, offshore, or shipyard operations, with hands-on experience in hull inspections and marine surveys. Experience with offshore support vessels, DP vessels, or heavy-lift marine operations is preferable. Possess Offshore safety training: BOSIET/HUET or equivalent. Marine survey or QA certifications preferred. Classification society familiarity or training advantageous. Familiarity with marine warranty surveys (MWS), OVID/SIRE inspections, or equivalent frameworks. Relevant certifications in offshore safety or marine surveying. Strong knowledge of vessel hull integrity, welding, coatings, and structural assessment. Familiarity with classification society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV, Lloyds Register) and regulatory compliance. Excellent technical reporting and documentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and inspection/reporting software. Strong attention to detail and technical judgment. High integrity, impartiality, and professional ethics. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work offshore, at shipyards, and in challenging marine environments.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM18,000.00 per month
