• Job Summary

The CSSD technician is trained in principles, methods and control of sterilization processes to perform sterilizing duties which include decontaminating, clean, process, assemble, store and distribute medical devices and supplies needed in patient care, especially during surgery and keep records associated with sterilization.

She / he will be stationed in CSSD and assigned to different areas in the unit. She / he provides vital support in all patient care services by collecting used sets / instruments from operating theatre (OT) and returning clean and sterilized sets / instruments to OT.

She / he responsible for knowing all of the tools used in an operating room, as well as sterilizing and packaging instruments used during surgery.
