Position Summary

Lead the strategic direction and technical execution of enterprise data architecture for the Client. You will own end-to-end architecture and cutover strategies (dual-run, reconciliation, rollback) to keep BI stable while guiding major transformations: source system migration from relational (Oracle) to document store (MongoDB), and data platform modernization to an Azure-based analytics stack. This role blends hands-on technical depth with architectural leadership to deliver scalable data models and reliable analytics (e.g., Power BI).

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Leadership:

oOwn and define the end-to-end data architecture strategy and roadmap.

oLead and manage data-related transformation programs

oEstablish enterprise data standards and governance (data contracts, lineage, quality, security).

oCollaborate with the Group / other OE data teams and explore opportunities to scale the solution for our purpose

Technical Ownership & Delivery

oDefine and govern the line-of-business based data model, in Data Vault 2.0 approach and dimensional models for analytics.

oDesign and oversee ETL/ELT pipelines from landing/integration layers to data marts and Power BI.

oMaintain BI continuity: stable semantic models, versioned views, backward-compatible changes.

oLead Azure analytics architecture (e.g., Synapse), with cost/performance guardrails and observability

Team & Stakeholder Management

oMentor and guide the Data Engineering team through multi-phase transformations.

oSet development standards and ensure adherence.

oServe as a primary liaison for Client requirements; communicate risks, SLAs, and trade-offs.

Technical Requirements

o5+ years in enterprise data architecture/analytics; 2+ years leading architecture teams and complex migrations.

oTrack record of at least 1 successful large-scale data/platform migrations with business continuity OR management of a large-scale data platform based on Azure or AWS cloud services

oMigration and integration expertise across heterogeneous systems (RDBMS?NoSQL, AWS?Azure).

oAdvanced data modeling: 3NF, dimensional/star schema, Data Vault 2.0

oPlatforms and clouds: Azure analytics (Synapse, ADLS, Data Factory; catalog/lineage and secrets)

oDatabases/sources: experienced in Oracle and MongoDB, including nested/array modeling and schema drift management.

oGovernance/security: data contracts, lineage, PII handling, RBAC/least privilege, encryption, auditing.

oPerformance and cost management: SQL tuning, distribution/partitioning strategies, workload isolation, monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications

oInsurance domain experience (core systems such as policy, claims, billing).

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Up to RM9,500.00 per month
