Role Summary
The Data Center IT Manager is responsible for overseeing all IT-related functions within the data center environment. This role ensures the reliability, security, compliance, and performance of IT systems while supporting data center certifications, cybersecurity initiatives, design reviews, and integration of IT and facilities ELV systems. The position also serves as the primary IT representative for internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Infrastructure
Manage and maintain data center IT infrastructure including servers, storage, network devices, and related systems.
Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of IT services supporting data center operations.
Oversee ITSM systems (incident, problem, change, and asset management) to ensure effective service delivery.
Coordinate vendors and contractors for IT systems and services.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
Lead cybersecurity governance, policies, standards, and best practices.
Manage security devices including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, access control, and monitoring tools.
Support industry certifications and compliance such as ISO 27001, ISO 22301, SOC, PCI DSS, TIA-942, and Uptime Institute.
Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response planning.
Design Review & Project Support
Participate in data center design reviews to ensure IT, network, storage, and ELV systems meet operational and security requirements.
Review and approve IT-related designs for new builds, expansions, and retrofit projects.
Ensure proper integration between IT systems and facilities systems such as BMS, DCIM, EMS, CCTV, and access control.
ELV & Facilities IT Systems
Oversee ELV systems including structured cabling, monitoring systems, and security platforms.
Collaborate with Facilities and Engineering teams for IT and M&E system integration.
Ensure reliability and cybersecurity of facilities-related IT systems.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Act as the company's lead representative on all IT-related data center matters.
Provide leadership and guidance to internal IT teams.
Liaise with auditors, regulators, customers, and technology partners.
Prepare management reports, KPIs, and technical documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
8-12 years of experience in IT infrastructure or data center environments, including 3 5 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of data center architecture, networking, cybersecurity, and ELV systems.
Experience supporting data center certifications and audits.
Hands-on experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, BMC, or Jira Service Management will be advantage.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and risk management.
Ability to review technical designs and translate business requirements into IT solutions.
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Experience working in mission-critical, 24/7 operational environments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM15,000.00 - RM20,000.00 per month
